In the 1980s, TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) became the standard networking protocol, making it easier for different networks to communicate and essentially laying the groundwork for the global internet.

2. The Birth of the WWW (1989 – 1990)

In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research), came up with the idea of a hypertext system that would enable researchers to share documents and data across the globe. This idea was the seed for the World Wide Web.
